I’m surrounded by the full gamut of nerds

This morning I decided to go to the Microsoft TechNet seminar/conference
in town. Free food and a free copy of Vista — who can complain about
that?

So I put on my best (and only) argyle sweater and bravely entered the
unknown. The event was at a hotel presentation room and about 200-300
people showed up. They had the best continental breakfast ever. Then
again, I was amused by the strawberry cream cheese and the fact that I
haven’t had a bagel in months.

I stepped inside the room and took a seat. What do you know — I’m
surrounded by the full gamut of nerds. This is why I hate tech people
— everybody’s pretty stereotypical.

Asians. There are probably 20 Asians in the entire Minneapolis area,
including yours truly, and they’re all here.

Fat dude. Incredibly large and takes up multiple seats.

Awkward folks. Skinny and their mother dresses them funny.

Ubernerds. Clips his Apple-stickered Nalgene to his utility belt.
Seriously.

The girls. They’re unattractive, but talk nerd to me any day.

Al least everyone’s polite.
