Predictions for Spider-Man 3
The third instalment of the [tag]Spider-Man[/tag] movie franchise is set to be released in theatres on May 4th. Even though I’m mainly excited to see the movie (mostly for the special effects, plus it’s Spider-Man!), I’m kind of expecting the following to happen in the movie:
- Harry Osborne (or is it Osbourne?) becomes the new [tag]goblin[/tag], and goes after Peter Parker. This was revealed in the movie trailer, and will probably be near the beginning of the movie to build excitement.
- Peter discovers the black parasite, which attaches itself to his suit. He wears the suit, gets all powerful, and loves it. This happened in the Spider-Man stories before.
- Somewhere along the line, it is revealed that the Sandman was somehow responsible for Peter’s Uncle Ben’s death. The director wanted [tag]Sandman[/tag] to be in the first movie, but they didn’t have the resources to put him in.
- Spider-Man (Peter) goes after the Sandman, and in a rage encouraged by his black suit, he tries to kill the Sandman. He also manages to piss off Eddie Brock in the process.
- The suit also makes him try to kill Harry, further confirming his hatred for Peter.
- Peter realizes the suit is bad for him, and tries to get rid of it. A battle ensues, and Peter manages to beat it. They’ll tie in the lame “with great power comes great responsibility” quote again.
- The parasite somehow gets to Eddie Brock, creating Venom, another new enemy.
- Oh, and somewhere in there a new love interest is created for Peter, causing new tension between him and Mary-Jane Watson. The suit probably makes him do something with the new girl.
And there you have it: the plot for Spider-Man 3. I’m not saying the movie’s lame; the special effects are probably worth the price of admission.
Time to go to the theatres and see if I’m right…
