Early Morning Ponderings
This is my first post, and I have decided that it is just going to be about the random stuff that has been on my mind lately. It is not a rant, it is probably not a truth, it is not funny, and it will most likely make no reference to anything technological or up-to-date. (Let’s face it. I’m not Chris.) (PS. I’m running on very little sleep right now, so forgive me)
So here goes…
(1) High schools: Does anyone else feel like their high school did absolutely dick-all to prepare them for university? I graduated from high school with an average of 95%. I had never done a minute of studying outside of class. I did an average of an hourĀ of homework a week. At most. In high school, I was the shit. So why do I feel so unprepared at university?? Oh ya– because university is starting to prepare you for the REAL WORLD. Which apparently is something that high schools have not yet taken into account. Thank you, New Brunswick education system. You have let me down.
(2) Meal Hall: I realize that a food supplier is going to have a hard time satisfying everyone. People have diverse tastes in food, and I myself know how hard it can be to find food that is enjoyable to a picky eater. Aramark should not expect to satisfy EVERYONE. But you think it would be in their best interest to try to satisfy at least SOMEONE? The food choices are limited, the desserts (while nicely presented) are actually becoming monotonous, I have been harassed by a certain employee because I grew out my hair and took off my glasses… I realize that I no longer look like the picture on my Student ID card… I also realize that if the school was willing to pay to get updated pictures taken, this wouldn’t be a problem. While I think that the meal hall is trying to fix certain problems, merely adding a comment board and letting us walk out of meal hall with ice cream isn’t enough. They can do better.
(3) Illness: I have been sick for 11 days now. Screw you, cold.
(4) People in general: I think that people in general need to become less stupid. I am referring here to (a) assholes that lead on innocent girls who are just looking to engage in a relationship based on mutual respect and affection (b) sluts (c) the drunk people who stand outside my door every single night at midnight and yell (d) professors who think that they have the right to actually assign us work (CAN THEY NOT SEE THAT WE ARE TOO STRESSED OUT TO WORK??) (e) people who eat at fast food restaurants.
(5) Sleep: This is what I am going to do now.
